8th annual Marauder Trotter 5k run/walk at 9 a.m. at Wright Park. Free Kids’ Parade of Wheels at 10:15 at Wright Park. Community driving scavenger hunt at 1 p.m. at Wright Park. Vendors open at 5 p.m. Music at Memorial Park : Backlog at 5 p.m., headliner Alexander James Band at 7:15 p.m.

Cherry Creek Independence Day Celebration

Rides open 1 p.m. through 10 p.m. Raffle, beer and wine tent, vendors. Birds of Prey exhibit between 1 to 5 p.m. Cherry Creek Volunteer Fire Department chicken barbecue in the pavilion at 2 p.m. Pie contest at 2 p.m. (no pies needing refrigeration can be entered) Classic car, truck and motorcycle show 2 to 4 p.m., music by the Kokomo Time Band. The Fredonia Farmers’ Market is held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday mid-May through October on Church Street, downtown Fredonia. It features a variety of vendors. This week the New Horizons Band will perform a traditional concert. A number of vendors accept EBT, NYS Farmers Market Nutrition checks and WIC vegetables and fruits checks.

Westfield Farmers’ and Artisans’ Market

Moore Park, center of Westfield, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Locally grown produce, meats, baked goods, food products, craft items and more. Prepared foods suitable for breakfast and lunch and hot and cold beverages are also available. The Westfield Flea, an antiques and vintage market, is on the other side of the park.

Event runs at the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Convoy will leave the fairgrounds at 11:55 a.m. The trip is for individuals with a disability/illness to ride across Northern Chautauqua County in a semi. There will be food trucks, the Optima Prime replica, fire trucks, tree carving with Vince the Tree Guy, a cornhole tournament, a basket raffle and from 1 to 4 p.m., live music by Tim Barlette, Proceeds benefit the Make a Wish Foundation. Lakeshore Humane Society Saturday open adoption hours

The Lakeshore Humane Society, 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk, will hold open adoption hours from noon to 3 p.m. The public is welcome to see the dogs and cats in need of loving homes. Tours of the facility will not be given. Individual appointments are available throughout the week by leaving a message at 716 672-1991; press “1” for dogs or “2” for cats. Children ages 2 to 8 and their caregivers are invited to a free nature-based storytime at the Audubon Community Nature Center, 1600 Riverside Road, Jamestown from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Sunday admission is also free. Registration for the annual Firecracker Run takes place from 7 to 8:15 a.m. at the park, with the race beginning at 9 a.m. Vendors of food, gifts and crafts set up on Chautauqua Avenue from noon to 10 p.m. Music by “Smokehouse” at Richard O. Hartley Park from 6 to 10 p.m. Fireworks show at 10 p.m.

Mayville Fourth of July festivities

9 a.m. judging of fire apparatus and antique/classic cars; parade on Route 394 in the village beginning at 10 a.m.; Lakeside park activities including a petting zoo by Mike Morton of Clear Creek Carriages, food, games, raffles; noon: DJ by Skip; 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.: Injest Comedy, variety and stunt show featuring Nel Ross at the Community Center; 2 p.m.: music by The Gray Brothers Blues Band at Gazebo #3; also Amazing Magic of Mike Baron at the Community Center at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.; 6 p.m.: Good-Eyed Ear performs at Gazebo #3; 9:30 p.m. grand prize drawings at the committee tent; 10 p.m. Skylighters Fireworks. A chicken barbecue gegins at noon at the Findley Lake Fire Department. The annual duck race is held at 12:30 p.m. at the wter flume on the north end of the lake, followed by a boat parade at 2 p.m. A fireworks display kicks of at 10 p.m.
